Trend Spotting: French Braid Updo!
I'm making a gown next and thought this style would suit it well. The look is copied from Ann Hathaway & Kate Hudson.

Butterick 5388
Butterick 5388
I forgot to post this last week. I've been getting real lucky lately. This turned out great! I paired this tunic with leggings and a pair of boots similar to the ones Halle is wearing in this pic
Fabric is from my stash (a red snakeskin printed faille, I think), once again, my husband is always happy about that. No alterations needed on this one, the only thing I did differently was omit the interfacing on the cowl neck piece. I didn't want it stiff and thought it was somewhat pointless to cut it on the bias (to give it a nice drape), as instructed, only to turn around and interface it. Love it!
Have a blessed weekend everyone!

Carrie Underwood's Ace ~ Inspires Princesses Simplicity 3939
I learned about a year ago that Carrie Underwood had a MinPin, and I can understand why. These dogs have all the gusto of a pitbull packed into their little 7lb bodies. I have two a boy, Peanut and a girl, Princess, 3 and 4 yrs old, both adopted/rescued and I love them to death!
The only reason I chose this print instead of some leopard print fleece I have is because my husband is the main dog walker and he refused to walk her in the leopard. LOL
My husband is a Wizard's fan so I used some fleece and rib knit from my stash. The coat went together in a snap and fits her perfectly!!
We didn't get as much snow as last year but alittle more damage. Trees down everywhere. This is a pic from the beginning of the snowfall last night.

Audrina Patridge Inspires ~ Black Cutout Dress
This was a hot trend last Summer and I think it will run over into this Summer as well. I'm still on a mission to use fabric that I have first before buying more and this creation stemmed from that!
I have seen Audrina in many similar black cutout dresses and decided to mold them altogether and this dress reminded me of my vision.
I really like the dress, but the 14, especially with the stretch fabric seemed to run alittle loose for my taste, because even after altering it down in all areas, I think I could have went alittle smaller and increased my bust alittle more. It's still very wearable though, don't you think?
I will post a vid on my other channel in the next few days regarding how I care for and style my hair (I also show how I professionally color my hair at home!). You can find all links etc on my youtube channel.

It's so cold here that my camera was acting up from sitting in the FREEZING COLD laundry room!

Gorgeous In Emerald Green
There were some gorgeous gowns worn at the Globes this year! You could definitely use this pattern, view A, and extend the hem in back to form a similar train. How gorgeous, classy and sophisticated does Catherine Zeta-Jones look in this emerald gown against her dark hair???

Does This Top Look Familiar??
Jenny Garth was seen in this top a couple years ago, but it still works today. I'm so happy I can sew!

Kristin Cavallari's Biker Chic Look
Hi Everyone!
I'm sure you are all enjoying this new year. Things have finally started to settle down around here and I wanted to start having fun on the web again!
This year I'm going to really try to enjoy myself blogging and doing videos on Youtube. I plan to copy as many celebrity looks as possible by using patterns and tweaking them.
I'm starting off by doing a look I've seen Kristin wear a few times.
I started with the fab short leather jacket. I copied hers by using
McCall's 6171

Check out my video to find out how I did my hair and how I paid $7.99 for the fab boots!
